Unfortunately, the next band really let me down. Following Randall Holt was <a title=\"Black Tape For  A Blue Girl\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blacktapeforabluegirl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">BLACK TAPE FOR A BLUE GIRL<\/a> (Brooklyn, NYC). The mix was off in the beginning and sounding really muffled but honestly, even after that was hammered out I was seriously less than impressed. The breathy thin singing and weak acoustic guitar of Valerie Gentile (formerly of the Cruxshadows) reinforced my thoughts that she was only on the stage to look good.<\/p>\n<p>Now, believe me when I say that I hate to slam my favorite Austin drinking and dance venue but&#8230;  honestly, booking bands on what should have been one of the biggest  nights of the quarter for a goth\/industrial bar was probably not the  greatest idea. More so, having the band stink really seemed to kill the  mood for a lot of people, myself included. Fortunately, with the moderate application of beer (<a title=\"BE SAFE!!!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myfoxaustin.com\/dpp\/good_day\/APD%3A-Halloween-No-Refusal-Weekend-20101028-ktbcgd\" target=\"_blank\">DON&#8217;T FORGET AUSTIN HAS A NO REFUSAL WEEKEND THIS WEEKEND!!<\/a>) and DJ&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/dj-edminister\/190561317416\" target=\"_blank\">Edminister<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/DJ-Void\/154665441212441\" target=\"_blank\">Void<\/a> spinning some rocking industrial&#8230; the night turned out to be a great one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night at Elysium started off great with Randall Holt (of DEAD.CAT.CELLO) wailing his tunes on his wicked cello and all was well.
